Today was another sunny day! We had to take advantage of it as Mr. Weatherman says it’s going to rain all day tomorrow.

The chickens discovered today one of our fence posts had come loose and they showed us they know how to try to get out… that’s fixed now.

I was reading a post the other day (I’m sorry to say I forgot who it was – if it’s you let me know) the lady writing it was sharing her black dog loved to lay in the sun…

We have one of those...

My wonderful hubby finished weed eating the fence line… it looks good now.

The only problem today again was the wind. It blew all night and knocked things over. Today it is making sure it tries its hardest to blow the leaves off the trees in surprise attacks.

I worked in the garden and placed my new wire trellis I got to let my cucumbers climb on this year.

My onions are coming up and I am so excited to see the fruits of my labor starting to grow.

I am so looking forward toย the weather staying nice andย being able to put the rest of my plants in so they can grow big.

Baxter and Chase wanted to wish all my followers, readers, and visitors a Happy Weekend !

P.S. Anyone know what song and from what show my blog title came from today?

  1. It doesn’t look like your chickens did much with the big opportunity of a hole in the fence. I suspect they know when they’re on to a good thing. Who said chickens are stupid!

  2. I really like your cucumber trellis. Why can’t our garden “work horses” be pretty, too? Your land is very beautiful with a nice view of the mountains.

    • Thak you that is what made me want this place the most was the view ๐Ÿ™‚ I agree this year I wanted pretty in my garden that would keep my climbing plants away from the edge of the fence since our chickens eat whatever they can get though the fence. Thanks for the nice comment.

  3. Thank you for your comments on my blog! I think yours are my first comments ever! LOL! You have a beautiful piece of land! I dream about having a small homestead myself!

    • I was happy to comment. I am so happy you have one now, each comment I get is so exciting, so thank you for yours also. Thanks for your kind words.

  4. What beautiful dogs you have. What breed are they? They look like they could eat a guinea pig in one mouthful! *gulp*

Thanks for liking my blog and you have a lovely home.

    • The bigger black on is a lab/healer mix and the little one is a terrier mix. The black on Baxter probably could eat a guinea pig in one mouthfull, but doubt he would. They are both gentle and good with our chickens (so far). I am glad you stopped by and thank you for the nice comment ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I like the trellis, too. You look like you’re a few gardening zones warmer than we are here… in Western Mass we’re supposed to get temps down to 24 degrees again tonight, so I haven’t put much out in the garden yet. I do have to get a trellis for my peas, since my homemade one fell over right away, so maybe I’ll go investigate something like what you have. Thanks for the inspiration!

    • I am in VA and it is cooler the last couple of day, before that not too bad. I keep my tomatoes under covers to keep them warm, but the rest are doing fine. I hope you can find a nice trellis, I think I got this one at Lowes Home Improvemet Store. It was not that expensive. Hope you get a nice one.

  6. I have a black dog named Kingsley. I posted about how he’s very good at finding sunny spots and taking naps. Maybe it was my blog you were reading . . .?

    • I went by to check it out and don’t think that was the blog I was reading it on, as I don’t remeber it having a photo of the pup, but Kingsley is a cutie. Thanks for letting me know ๐Ÿ™‚

What do you think? I would love to hear from you :)
