The Big Storm…

Last night the heat finally got out of hand and caused a really bad storm. We had poring rain, hail, lightning, thunder, and the wind was so fast and hard. The storm lasted for a few hours and cause a lot of damage. It reminded me of when I was a child and sat though bad hurricanes. I found one article about it http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/48024138/ns/weather/. Luckey (well … Read More The Big Storm…

Heat, Humidity, and Awards

The temperature got up over 100* today and felt even higher with the humidity. I walked outside this morning at 7:30 AM and I was already sweating just letting the chickens out of the coop. I am glad I put fresh cold water in all the buckets and in the baby/doggie pool last night so the chickens all had fresh water today. What we really need … Read More Heat, Humidity, and Awards

Inspiring Awards…

I have been nominated for two more awards… the Very Inspiring Blogger Award and Inspiring Blogger Award… I am not sure if they are the same thing… but since I don’t know I am going to address both of them.  I didn’t want to wait much longer to thank the generous bloggers who gave me the award nominations. Thank you Literary Tiger from http://literarytiger.wordpress.com andRead More Inspiring Awards…

Small visitors…

I love when you see the small things…. On our visit to the gardens we saw a lot of small visitors. I guess I should call them residents, but you never know if they are just passing through. These little critters are so cute and I am glad I got to see them. Each provides a special blessing and were created by God. Had … Read More Small visitors…

The Gardens…

While visiting my mom with hubby and the dogs we went to Botanical Gardens so I could take some photos of the flowers in bloom. I got some great shots so I thought I would share some of them today. I always think of flowers as Gods blessings in beautiful packages.

Stop and Enjoy…

This afternoon would have been a great one for a boat ride…. A stroll in the park… A good day to stop and smell the roses… Or watch a new family take a swim… Here on our little neck of the woods we are enjoying sitting on our newly painted front porch, sipping tea, and watching the birds. The dogs are with us watching … Read More Stop and Enjoy…

A hard days work…

As I said in my blog yesterday my mom and her husband came up yesterday to celebrate her birthday weekend. Last night we took her out for a walk and shopping in old town Frederick and then out to dinner. We had a fun time 🙂 Today it was chore day… not that I wanted my mom to work on her birthday weekend, but we needed … Read More A hard days work…

Yellow Rose of Texas

I have heard that in Texas the humidity is not as bad as in Virginia. It was 96*F on the thermometer today, but they said it felt like 116*. It was one of those days that it was so humid there were no clouds in the sky…. looked kind of like this picture I got at the beach… So to avoid the humidity I … Read More Yellow Rose of Texas

Fire Pit…

It’s been a hot and humid day… it has felt like this fire pit… The garden needed a good drink and it probably needed more than it got as the humidity even later seemed to suck up the water as soon as it hit the ground. I usually do ten things Tuesday, but since I work so much on Tuesday some weeks it will have … Read More Fire Pit…
