Today on black friday I am grateful I don’t have to go out if I don’t want to and that staying home allows me to spend more time with the boys 🙂 Tomorrow it is get ready for Christmas… get the tree, put up decorations, lights on the house, wrap presents, and my favorite part… decorating the tree while listening to the first Christmas songs for the year. Have any of you started to get ready for the holidays yet? If so what have you done?

  1. your boys are so cute! 🙂 I have two dogs too! We already started decorating everywhere around the house! (our eat-in kitchen, living room and basement) Our Christmas tree and Christmas lights are up since the first week of Nov! I love the Holidays! 🙂 hope you enjoyed your day! 🙂

    • How nice… sounds great 🙂 Our family tradition is to wait till after thanksgiving for all the decorating and all. We did have a nice little day 🙂 I am looking forward to having our lights and all up though 😉 Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  2. Yup, enjoyed Thanksgiving with friends yesterday, had my son get down all the Christmas decorations, planned to decorate today…but the day just got away from me, so will get to it tomorrow!! I don’t take down Christmas decorations ’til at least the middle of Jan.! I really like looking at them. I’m like that with most Holidays…Oct. is decorated for Fall, even here in FL…pumpkins and fall foliage colors, so that stays up ’til after Thanksgiving.

When I take down Christmas decorations, it’s time to put out some Valentine’s Day decor! Then Mar./Apr. I like Easter stuff around me. Patriotic things for Memorial Day, Flag Day, and 4th of July! I don’t have a lot of stuff, but just enough to make me happy! I think it comes from being a teacher, & always being conscious of the Holidays in the school year! As teachers, we all had cute pins, and items of clothing to match the Holidays…of course, kids love that sort of thing!!

Enjoy every minute of Christmas with your family…God Bless!

    • I am the same way I am a decorator for all holidays 🙂 It is fun and keeps you in the spirit 🙂 I am so glad you had your family around and got help with the decorations 🙂 It is so neat you were a teacher that is a rewarding, but hard job 🙂 I hope you have a blessed Christmas with your family also- God bless you too 🙂

      • Haven’t heard as many takers on the Black Friday thing this year as in the past!! Maybe, my friends & I are just too old for the battle! Ha!

      • For me, teaching (encouraging people) is a way of life…I do it wherever I am! When we lived in NJ, I taught Home Economics (now called Family and Consumer Sciences!) for 26 years in a public school, mostly in middle school…yes, hard job, very lively at that age!! But a great subject to teach, since kids love it!!

And a pension is a beautiful thing!! Now that I’m retired in FL, I teach part-time in a small Christian school…hard work again, but very rewarding!

Directing our church drama team is my teaching passion!!

Yes, let’s get ready for Jesus’ birth!!

  3. We have a family tradition that the grandkids come for a sleepover on Thanksgiving evening, and we decorate the next day. So, the tree is up, all the decorations are out, the outside decorations are lit, and the packages were wrapped last week and are now under the tree. We’re ready to enjoy the season.

  4. Hej from Sweden!
We actually just took down our fall/Halloween decor and we will start decorating for Christmas very soon. My daughter and I make a trip to Paris to enjoy ballet and return for Christmas in Sweden. This year will be special because while in Paris, we will ne placing Li’l Sis Goat Milk Soap in a shop on Paris. My husband will buy our tree or cut one from the forest. We all decorate the tree when we return on the 22nd. The 24th is Swedish Christmas and my husband cooks. My daughter and I cook a traditional American dinner. I will have the house decorated prior to our trip to Paris so it looks beautiful when my daughter and I returning. I love Christmas here and hope for snow.
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

    • That sounds so wonderful… it is so cool that you may have your product in Paris of all places… that is amaing 🙂 I hope you and your family have a safe and wonderful trip. The ballet sounds great 🙂 So glad you kept a little American in your lives 🙂 We also cut our own tree… more to come on this when we get it 🙂

What do you think? I would love to hear from you :)
