It’s the end of a week… the dogs are snoozing on the chair, hubby is in bed, and I am trying to get though some magazines that are from months ago. After a long week it is nice to be able to sit back, leave the rest of the chores for tomorrow, and connect with my blogging world. How was your week? Any new developments? We had a cold and windy day, but the sunset was nice…
I was thinking how nice it is at night… the house is quiet, I can do my bible study without interruption, Β I get to watch what I want on TV (or not watch TV at all), no one needs anything, and there is a sense of calm. I knowΒ many peopleΒ get up early to do things before their “house wakes up”, but in my house the night-time is nice. What is your favorite time of day to be alone, quiet, and get some ‘me’ time?
Nice pictures! I like night time, mainly because I’m too tired to get up in the morning. π
I agree… as hard as I try I can’t get up in the AM too early or too many days in a row π
I’m like you…night time is peaceful and calm for me, too! I can think, read my Bible, reflect on the day, and think ahead to the next day! Even if I have to go to bed early because of work the next day, I still need that unwinding time. I believe that because I do make time for that…God plants in my mind during the night what I need to do, say, or write about the next day. I have note paper and pen ready to jot down things that He wants me to remember!
Hope you have a restful and joyful night!
I would agree… ideas and thoughts just come after my quiet time some nights and you just have to write them down π You have a restful and joyful night too π
Like you; in our house it’s more calm at night! When baby and hubby are in bed, I open my laptop and get to relax a bit with my dogs next to me or watch TV alone! Then, in the mornings; there is a lot of noise ; baby crying, screaming or playing or dogs barking at anything or anyone they see passing in front of our house from the window. It’s loud! ha!ha! π Glad you are enjoying your evening and hope you will have a great and calm weekend! π
Our morning are busy too and lots of activitiy if we are all home… minus the kids (which we hope to have someday). I hope you have a good, quiet, and productive time in the next few nights π
I’m a morning person but maybe that is because I don’t haul off to Corporate America every day anymore. It was a good week. I finished the squares for the quilt tops for the grandkids so I’m on to sashing right now. But, the sap started running and then stopped. So, we’ll boil what we have and wait for it to start again. Mother Nature has her own sugaring timetable. Have a good weekend. π
I know many people who are morning people and love that quiet time of day… I wish I could get myself up to enjoy it π Good luck with the sap π
I like to go out to the horse barn/shelter in late afternoon and do chores. There is something very soothing about cleaning the corral, feeding my favorite equines, and taking a moment to bury my head in my beautiful quarter horse’s neck. When my horse wraps me in his warmth and quietly blows out, it feels as though God is giving me a hug.

That sounds like a wonderful way to spend your time in the day π I also love the imagery you gave about your horse wrapping you in Gods hug… Very powerful π
My week has been very full-on with looking after my ill daughter and showing our house to prospective buyers. My ‘me’ time is when I can get up before she does in the morning. I love to have some prayer and meditation time when the house is quiet (but after feeding the cat, otherwise there’s no peace). I used to be more of a night owl – and I’m blogging at 10 pm, what fun! – but generally I can’t think awfully clearly at night because I’m too tired.
Your description of your peaceful evening is very soothing indeed.
I hear a lot of mom tell me things will change when we have kids, but that is ok… I’m flexiable π I know what you mean about the pets… on the days I do get up early and don’t have to go to work I have to feed the dogs and let them out or there is no peace for me either π I will say a prayer your daughter is better soon π
