We have one little chick who is smaller and not growing her wings as fast as the other…
And somehow she is my favorite…
I love her little chick face and that she is staying small. I am really focusing on their growing this time and just watching all the changes. It is such a fun thing to watch and a great thing to be responsible for. God knew whatΒ he was doing when he created baby chicks π
And such a beautiful color!!
Yes the gold brown color is nice π
Cute thing! What breed is she?
Buff Orpington… we have 7 of them and they are supposed to be a light brown and gold color when they grow up π
The smallest of our chicks was always my favorite, too. It made me sad to see her being the lowest in the “pecking order”, as they grew up The other 5 chicks wouldn’t let her roost on the front perch with them, and she was the last to lay eggs–six months behind her sisters, but she holds her own now. Sometimes, the others actually let her sleep on the front perch, or one of them will move to the back perch with her. Chickens are funny. Enjoy yours!
I noticed that with out last flock of ladies. There was a small girl, but as she grew the less they picked on her and now there is always a flurry of pushing and peaking when a treat is given even by the smaller ladies π We defiantly enjoy our chickens π
Oh! she’s so pretty! π it’s funny your title is little chick; I’ve always been the shortest in my family and with my friends ha!ha!
Being the shortest I heard has it advantages π Gad you liked the little chick π
π thanks!
Always welcome π
