More snow today… More predicted for Wednesday and Thursday… I think the Olympics have caused the excess snow this year to keep us all in a Winter Olympics mood. At least the bird are enjoying full feeders and this woodpecker is a frequent visitor.

He seems to like the soot blocks best.

Bad thing about the snow is it is covering all the ice up, that just makes it slicker. Getting to and from the chicken coop has been an adventure in trying not to fall carrying the water bucket

  1. Hope that the bucket isn’t full of water to spill–that would be cold!

I seem to fall on the ice at least once a year…We have snow but it hasn’t been warm enough to make ice—it sounds like ice is in our future late this week.

    Stay safe!

    • Yep, all full of water. The coop is about 1/2 and acre from where we have to get the water bucket filled so we haul it back and forth when we clean it out every other day or sometimes more often if they get it dirty more quickly. Luckily, I have been so careful, but hubby has fallen a couple of time. No fun at all.
I hope you don’t get any ice I know that will make things super hard for you and the whole operation 😦 Hope you all stay safe and warm πŸ™‚

    • I know what you mean… one storm finishes and then another comes though before the first ha melted. But at least its pretty as it falls πŸ™‚

  2. It’s still cold here….but more threats of snow than actual snow. We will see what comes of the 1-3 inches promised for tomorrow. Come. On. Spring! Bless you for taking care of the birds! β™₯

    • The bird are well fed and we are safe and warm despite the snow. Its not that bad and its kind of nice to see the pretty snow πŸ˜‰

      • Ya, but for the time its good to see the positive in the snow as when it gets hot that will be harder in some ways, and I am sure the birds like the snow better then the heat πŸ˜‰

What do you think? I would love to hear from you :)
