Graduation…

So as promised yesterday I will fill you in on our trip. Today its all about the graduate (my hubbys nephew and so by marriage my nephew as well) 🙂 He graduated from a small Christian academy in Indiana. His father (my brother-in law), is the pastor at this smallish church and one day about a decade ago he and my sister in law decided there needed to be a good Christian school for their kids, and others, to attend. So they talked about it with their church and started the school. My nephew was the first one to graduate doing all of his schooling, kindergarten to 12th grade, though only this school.

Each of the graduates made a table for the graduation with pictures, awards, etc that showed what they did while in school. (Nephew above with his table and yes he is tall 6’5″ to be exact at age 18) There were only two seniors who graduated. Each night they have different events for the graduation. Wednesday there is a church service… Thursday a banquet where who whole school gathers for awards, a slide show, etc and all the kids dress up like it is prom (they don’t have dances so this is the one time the kids get to dress up outside of their normal dress up code for school). Friday is the actual graduation and the kindergarten and 6th graders graduate as well. The best part of the school is their motto…

It was a nice graduation and unlike any others I had been to. The kids have a real respect for adults, each other, and themselves 🙂

Busy Trip…

Hubby and I took a trip last week to Indian (the pups went with us) to attend hubby’s nephews graduation (well my nephew too 😉 ) We had a very nice time, only problems was it was too short and so busy. Hubbys sister and her husband not only pastor a church, but run a private Christian school though the church. Hubbys nephew graduate with one other young lady and each night before the graduation they had a graduation event (more on that later). While there we checked out the lay of the land to see if we could find a good place for our future farm/ranch and had a little fun at the Louisville Zoo and Louisville Sluggers museum (More on that later too ) 🙂

May has been a busy busy month and I am glad June doesn’t have as much planed; only time to spend with my best friend who should be having her baby tomorrow (her due date) or soon. She is ready for the baby and so are her other kiddos and hubby. I am excited to be a part of her birth team for a special home birth 🙂 Pray for the birth to go smoothly and for a healthy baby 🙂 Hope you are all well and had a good month of May 🙂

Happy Mothers Day Mom…

We had an exciting weekend. I took my mom yesterday to the farmers markets in the morning and before lunch surprised her by taking her to a Celtic festival where we ate and saw a lot of neat things. After the festival we took her to a seafood restaurant for dinner, as she loves seafood. I was hoping to make it a special one day early mother’s day as she had to travel home today after church. She seemed to really enjoy what I had found for us to do and my step-father was a good sport enjoying these things with us.

In years past I haven’t had time to plan anything really good for mothers day or there hasn’t been anything good going on… so it was nice to be able to plan a nice day for her 🙂 Happy mothers day to all the Moms out there and a very special Happy Mothers Day to my MOM 🙂

Happy Late Easter…

Thought I would share this little poem I found…
