Here it is…
Our first snow of the season. There is something special about the first snow and this one is especially special because hubby and I have been home together.
We took it easy today ( I had quite a migraine for most of the day), but we had to go out for a while and get the chickens situated. The pups went out with us and enjoyed running around in the snow.
Chase just loves to run…
And lately Baxter has been more playful and energetic.
But he loved the snow before there was Chase. They spent time between playing and sniffing in the snow.
Chase helped us with the chickens, but since he is not allowed in the coop, he supervised from outside it.
The chickens loved getting some scratch…
And a new addition to the coop a flock block. Boy did they love that π
Once we got back inside Chase crashed on his bed…
But Baxter stayed up wanting some more attention.
It was a nice first snow and it ended well as my mom and step father made it up safe to spend the holiday with us.
We have seen on the TV how bad the snow has been in the US. Here we just have rain and fog!! keep warm and safe.
Yes, New York has gotten it bad, we only got a few inches in Virginia so far, but that’s enough for now π Hope you are well and that your rain turns to sun soon:)
Delightful photos. I wish you all to keep warm over the coming Winter months.
Thank you we are trying to keep people and animal alike warm this holiday π
Awesome pictures! My in-laws are back your direction and told us about the snow π
I’ll have to show Ashley Grace your “flock block” — haven’t seen one for chickens before now but we give something similar to our cattle.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Anne
Well if your in-laws need anything let me know. I am glad you liked the photos.
If Ashley-Grace likes the flock block they are really good in the winter and snow when forging is at a minimum. You can make your own or get them at a feed supply store. We usually just give them the block when it is snowing and they have to stay “cooped up ” π
Hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving π
