My Old Man

How many of you can you relate to this? You have animals all your life and then once you get to be an adult you get your first animal that is all yours. Its a great thing, until down the road when you start to look at pictures of them and realize…

They are frosty old. Then it is very real… you have to deal with all the things that come with animals old age. When your a kid you have your parents or someone that usually creates a shield in some way for you. But even when you grow up with animals and have dealt with life and death of those animal’s its still very different to deal with it as an adult and when they are solely your responsibility. So our first dog as a married couple is going on 12 and the last couple years has really started to show his frosty age.

The thing is I love his frosty old self. We call him old man as he is starting to have that difficulty loading up in the pickup truck and his joints (as all of ours) are aching more. But in his eyes I still see his puppy youth and when he runs and plays on occasion I still see the life he has and how despite his frost he is still a puppy at heart. Got to love the aging dogs 🙂

What do you think? I would love to hear from you :)
