My Old Man

How many of you can you relate to this? You have animals all your life and then once you get to be an adult you get your first animal that is all yours. Its a great thing, until down the road when you start to look at pictures of them and realize… They are frosty old. Then it is very real… you have to … Read More My Old Man

Growing and Learning

I said in my last post I would post about our chicken run we built for the baby chicks to be outside in, yet safe from predators like hawks. And it works we have had a hawk try to get them in here without success. We have also used it to separate chickens as needed like when they are minor sick or injured. Keeps them outside … Read More Growing and Learning

Friends

It’s nice to have friends you can count on… ones that are really there to help when you need it. Ones who support you and give you really advice and care even if it’s not what you always want to hear. It’s also great to be that kind of friend. Someone who is there for others when they need you, even if it may … Read More Friends

Woodland Friends

While on my trip I came across some woodland friends… I remember seeing the movie Bambi for the first time. I can remember most of my first experiences with Disney movies and I bet most of you can as well. You can remember the characters, what you felt, and what your impression was of the movies as a child. Funny when you watch them … Read More Woodland Friends

What is family?

As I thought about family this past Easter I was reminded that family is not just the one we are born into. It is the journey of the people the Lord brings into our lives. Its those special people who treat you like they are blood relatives (and sometimes better) and you feel the same about them. Its about the relationships we develop with … Read More What is family?

Sweet Sleepy Grayson

This is my sweet kitty last CHRISTmas time. He loved to snuggle and sleep on the CHRISTmas blanket by the tree. We have had a hard time finding a tree this year. Our normal tree place doesn’t open till the 1st and our tradition has always been to get our tree the day after thanksgiving (any one else do this?). But this year hubby was working … Read More Sweet Sleepy Grayson

Memories of September

Last September we were able to go to the lake for a little vacation with my folks. It was actually one of the most relaxing vacations since our honeymoon over 10 years ago. Our boys came. Our lab/healer mix wanted nothing to do with the water or boat. We barley got him on the double decker dock. Yet our terrier mix Chase absolutely loved everything … Read More Memories of September

Late Summer Update

Our little piece of God’s earth is trying to keep up with the change in weather from bouts of rain to dry humid heat. The grass is good when we get some rain and the chickens love all the bugs… The birds are still having babies and one mom has taken over our smaller birdhouse… Inside I am trying to keep up with the … Read More Late Summer Update

A look back cat

I was going though some old pictures last night and came across ones of baby Grayson… He had his 3rd birthday this month and I can’t believe he used to be this small… Any could fit in one of my hands when we first got him… He was such a small and snuggly little baby… And he has grown to be a long lean … Read More A look back cat

Summer grass

I am so glad that the summer grass has come in and the chickens have plenty of fresh, green, healthy, grass to forage in. Happy chickens=healthy chickens=good eggs 😉

Happy Happy Chickens!

The grass is back, the tress are coming out, the flowers are blooming, and the chickens are happy. Yet its either hot and humid or were having thunder storms and tornado warnings… I am not sure what season to call this, its not spring, or summer… I think I will just call it crazy!
