Dog Friday…

It’s Friday….

Bax in hat

We are all glad 😉

For the Love of Dogs…

I love my dogs…

I just needed to say that.

I can not imagine how people can harm an animal that has done nothing to provoke it. I may get upset when my boys act up or don’t listen, I may use a firm tone to correct behavior… but all they want is love and that is what I give them… lots of hugs, kisses, treats, walks, and love… Baxter and Chase I love you boys 🙂

Get along…

I thought I would share this photo of the boys from last Christmas. One of the moment’s they share and get along. Not that it is unusual, but I usually can’t catch it 😉 Hope you have had a good week so far and have a good next two days.. the weekend is almost here 🙂

Dog Days…

Our Chase is becoming quite the swimmer. He is loving the water more and more and gaining more confidence to swim. He is such a good boy 🙂

I guess when they say this is the dog days of summer that they mean all the dogs who love to swim and play 🙂 I hope you get this kind of day if you haven’t soon 🙂

A Wish From the Dogs…

The Boy are a little late but wanted to have their own post to wish you a happy 4th of July…

They wanted you to know what they are greatful for:

1. Mommy and Daddy

2. Kibble (their food)

3. Their beds

4. Their big back yard to play in

5. Treats- especially marrow bones

6. Their toys

7. Their Grandmother (who spoils them)

8. Naps

9. Rides in the truck

10. Long walks or hikes

Home Values and Love

The boys are trying to stay as cool as they can today. It tried to rain earlier, but that only made the humidity go up. I was out earlier this morning in the garden watering and checking on the plants. Things seem to be growing well. I wanted to water before it got too hot and caused all the water to evaporate.

When I got home the chickens were staying cool in the shade. (Aren’t “the girls” so cute 😉 )

I am in the mood for wadding… the river that runs through the battlefield we went to earlier in the week is calling my name…

This weekend promises to be a busy one. Tomorrow I am going over to the elderly couples house we bought the tractors from (https://seasonsgirl.wordpress.com/2012/04/15/look-what-my-husband-brought-home/) to help them clean. They asked me if I could come over to help them clean house once a month as they are having difficulty keeping up. Then hubby and I have errands to run, house to clean (for Sunday), and want to take the pups for a walk. Sunday we have my husband’s best friend and his family coming over for lunch and to hang out.

I have been thinking lately more and more about if our home portrays the values and beliefs we have. When friends, family, and their kids come over (we have had a lot of visitors over the last few months) do they see our belief in God, our love for others, and our love for each other. I am happy to say in most areas we are doing well, but there is always room for improvement. I think you can make New Years resolutions all year-long… so mine for the next few weeks is to see if there are ways I can create a warm, God valued filled, and healthy environment for those who come into our home.  Is there anything you do to create this in your home?

Festival Day… if it doesn’t rain

Today the sun is trying hard to stay out from behind the clouds…

The chickens are enjoying some grub in and out of the coop while they take turns laying.

They use to all lay in on of the first boxes we built, but now only one or two lay there, and the others lay in the new back box we built in their new attached house. Chickens are funny.

The pups have been playing most of the morning, but seem to be taking a rest currently, watching over their chickens like good flock guards.

I am hopefully off soon to a Flower and Garden Festival in our area with my mom. I am waiting for her to get here so we can go and try to beat the rain that looks like it wants to come. The weather channel did say rain today. I think I will pray for it to hold off untill we get done. *Fingers Crossed *

Any of you have any festival plans for this weekend or anything fun planed? I hope and will say an extra prayer for the rain holds off in your area too if you are supposed to have some, till you get done with your day. (If you need some rain and are hoping for it I will send ours your way).

Windy day business…

It was another beautiful, but windy day here in our area.

The wind would blow so hard at times you thought you would fall over and then it would stop for a while.

Don't know if you can see the leaves blowing in this picture, but we lost many due to the wind the last couple of days.

The dogs enjoyed time in the yard while I worked in the garden a little.

Chase

Baxter

I put my little pots with seeds out to get some sun and watered them to keep them from blowing away.

The chickens were also enjoying finding things in my flower beds.

It was a good day after Easter. I think I need a nap… I guess it’s too late for that… Thanks to all my new followers I appreciate the support and comments 🙂

Dogs and chickens…

Baxter and one of "The Girls"

I am not really sure what our dogs first thought when the chickens were relocated to their yard home and were running around in the same space our pups spend time. Chase didn’t know if he should chase them, play with them, or run from them when they tried to peck him. Baxter on the other hand could care less he just wanted to get ahold of the ‘little treats’ they left around the yard. There is now a calm harmony developed in our yard, as the dogs and chickens just go about their business and mostly ignore each other. It’s funny to watch this scene and as long as they keep to themselves it is a happy yard. With the last few days being rainy and colder it has been hard to finish the coop and not get the boards and paint dry. Hopefully we will by this weekend to give our girls more space to lay.

I won’t be on tomorrow as I have a conference to go to, but will be back Friday. Happy Thursday!

Brothers…

They love to ride...

I was watching my pups today and again realized how much they act like brothers. The way they play, share, don’t share, and act… it’s almost human at times. My pups bring me such joy and love. It’s truly a blessing to have them in my life. I thought I would share this photo with you today as I took it recently while we were traveling back from one of the numerous events my pups are in that bring other’s joy. Don’t let them fool you, they get joy from it too. Goodnight all…
