Sunset so Bright

There are many nice things in any given day. But one of my favorite things is a beautiful sunset. When I see a beautiful sunset, one where the colors are vibrant or bright… it can make a bad day better or a good day great.

Sunset1

Hubby and I got to see a beautiful one a couple nights ago coming home from running errands in the city. We were fairly close to home and I looked over and saw this…

Sunset

The sun was just setting and throwing beautiful and brightly colored light over the mountain and into the sky. The clouds were wispy, fluffy, and so light. I made hubby pull over so I could get a couple pictures, but he didn’t mind. It was a good excuse for him to take a moment to enjoy it as well.

I hope you had a great week and that the coming week is full of blessings 🙂

Storms a commin’

The other night a storm blew in so quick, but you could see it coming….

Storm 2

I loved seeing the rain sheets coming from the river…

Storm 3

And across the fields towards our house…

Storm 1

The clouds turned and got darker as the storm got closer…

Storm 4

As much as I hate storms it was neat to see all this and be inside my cozy home safe and sound 🙂

Hay Feeling

What a long week. So much to do and no time for sleep. It has also been one HOT week with terms in the upper 90*’s and with the humidity felt in the 100*’s. Not much opportunity to work outside for too long. It will be a good that there isn’t a lot to do this weekend and inside chores can get done. On my drives home and around this week it seems the collecting of hay is coming to and end this season…Hay and CornThere is something special about haying season… I am not sure what it is… maybe the beautiful gold’s in the field being collected and bundled for use… maybe its the bales all lined up in rows or stacked so high… maybe its the feeling knowing that the animals will be fed another year… what ever it is, it’s a good feeling. I hope you all have a nice, relaxing, and feel good weekend 🙂

I Spy…

a duck…Duck Cloud

When I was a little girl one of the games my family use to play in the car was ‘ I spy’.  These were in the days that there was no in-car TV to watch movies, game boys, or electronic devices so you actually had to look out the window, keep yourself entertained, and be creative. My mom and I started to play ‘I spy’ in the clouds and we would look into the clouds and find a cloud shaped like something and then the rest of the people in the car had to try to find it and the first person who did got to go next. It’s a version of ‘I spy’ with things or colors and I loved to look at the clouds. As a kid I played a lot of car games to keep busy, but I have to say cloud watching was one of my favorite 🙂

I wonder what…

I was looking at this picture the other day and wondered….

What does heaven look like???  This picture was from a trip up in the sky on an airplane. It is peaceful and makes you relaxed as I imagine heaven is. I wondered if this is what the angels or God sees when he looks down from heaven. If so he has a peaceful view as I am sure heave is… peaceful. (I just hope when I get there I am not still scared of heights 😉 )

And the sun came out…

Yesterday was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day… it is why I missed my 10 things Tuesday and will have to make up for it with ten things Thursday.

Today I am choosing to see the sunshine and white fluffy clouds…

I am also choosing to rest and try to de-stress. It’s so humid outside you are drenched as soon as you go out. The dogs keep trying to leave the fence to get to the cool ditch water, but even that is dried up so I put out their baby pool (Chase liked it, Baxter only would drink from it).

Still they choose to be inside with me sleeping on the cold wood floors. (Can’t say I blame them). We got my car back from the shop today 🙂 Yahoo no more rental. I want to try to remember to post Monday nights dinner I made… cauliflower soup. I took some to work to share with coworkers and it got great reviews. I made the soup Monday as it was still chilly and cold enough for soup… unlike today.

Driving on the back road earlier in the week, near where we saw the peacock, we saw some chickens running around. Chickens are so funny when they run, if you are in a bad mood and see a chicken run, you can’t help but feel better, at least a little bit.

When I went out to check on the chickens and eggs I saw our cherry tree has started to get some red cherries on them. These are sour cherries, but are still good. I will have to keep an eye on them to see when they get ready and try to beat the birds to them.

I am glad half the week is over and there is only two days till the weekend. On a positive note I am so happy to pass 200 followers so thank you to each and every one of you who visits me daily and has chosen to follow my little part of the world. I am so grateful you are helping to make my blog a success. Blessings today to you and yours.

Sunny day… Chasing the clouds away

Today was another sunny day! We had to take advantage of it as Mr. Weatherman says it’s going to rain all day tomorrow.

The chickens discovered today one of our fence posts had come loose and they showed us they know how to try to get out… that’s fixed now.

I was reading a post the other day (I’m sorry to say I forgot who it was – if it’s you let me know) the lady writing it was sharing her black dog loved to lay in the sun…

We have one of those...

My wonderful hubby finished weed eating the fence line… it looks good now.

The only problem today again was the wind. It blew all night and knocked things over. Today it is making sure it tries its hardest to blow the leaves off the trees in surprise attacks.

I worked in the garden and placed my new wire trellis I got to let my cucumbers climb on this year.

My onions are coming up and I am so excited to see the fruits of my labor starting to grow.

I am so looking forward to the weather staying nice and being able to put the rest of my plants in so they can grow big.

Baxter and Chase wanted to wish all my followers, readers, and visitors a Happy Weekend !

P.S. Anyone know what song and from what show my blog title came from today?

Festival Day… if it doesn’t rain

Today the sun is trying hard to stay out from behind the clouds…

The chickens are enjoying some grub in and out of the coop while they take turns laying.

They use to all lay in on of the first boxes we built, but now only one or two lay there, and the others lay in the new back box we built in their new attached house. Chickens are funny.

The pups have been playing most of the morning, but seem to be taking a rest currently, watching over their chickens like good flock guards.

I am hopefully off soon to a Flower and Garden Festival in our area with my mom. I am waiting for her to get here so we can go and try to beat the rain that looks like it wants to come. The weather channel did say rain today. I think I will pray for it to hold off untill we get done. *Fingers Crossed *

Any of you have any festival plans for this weekend or anything fun planed? I hope and will say an extra prayer for the rain holds off in your area too if you are supposed to have some, till you get done with your day. (If you need some rain and are hoping for it I will send ours your way).

Windy day business…

It was another beautiful, but windy day here in our area.

The wind would blow so hard at times you thought you would fall over and then it would stop for a while.

Don't know if you can see the leaves blowing in this picture, but we lost many due to the wind the last couple of days.

The dogs enjoyed time in the yard while I worked in the garden a little.

Chase

Baxter

I put my little pots with seeds out to get some sun and watered them to keep them from blowing away.

The chickens were also enjoying finding things in my flower beds.

It was a good day after Easter. I think I need a nap… I guess it’s too late for that… Thanks to all my new followers I appreciate the support and comments 🙂
