Fall brings Thankfulness

We have one tree out by the road that always is so pretty when it changes colors. We love this tree as it signals fall and is just pretty to look at.

It also reminds me that Thanksgiving is on it’s way and it helps me to remember what I am thankful for.

Even when it seems thing aren’t going your way, things could always be worse and there is always something to be thankful for.

My boys are ready and waiting for Thanksgiving. They tried on their bandanas and have picked out a prime spot to watch the family eat.

The boys are just two of the many things I am thankful for this Thanksgiving. Hope you are going to have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving, no matter what your plans are.

Snow Dogs

Our boys love the snow. Especially Chase… Chase would stay out in the snow with us as long as we would let him. But usually we make him go in every so often as his poor paws gets caked with snow so we make him go in to warm up. In the 3 feet of snow we had a couple weeks ago it was a constant fight to make sure he had areas to go out and walk/run in when we went out to check on the chickens.

As the snow was going down and we were going outside more we dug more and more paths for the boys to go down and have places to move and roam.

Dogs Snow3

Chase being a bit of an explorer kept trying to go over the snow and make his own paths…

Chase snow2

It didn’t always work out for him as he would get a little ways, sink into the snow, and sometimes get stuck…

Then he would come back onto the paths with his big brother…

And run to catch up with him…

They are so cute together and good brothers 🙂

We have more snow.. 17 inches to be exact.

It took us 4 hours to dig out our driveway and then go over to help our elderly neighbor dig out his. Our other neighbor came over with his snow blower and helped us out…

The snow was taller then Chase, but that didn’t stop him from trying to get over the snow banks as we dug out…

Baxter was a good big brother and blazed a trail for Chase to follow him into the snow…

More pictures to come of the great 17″ snow.

When it’s cold outside…

When the snow is coming down and the temperature drops, there is no place like your own home… warm and comfy to make things better. Our pups know this well as when it is cold and snowing outside, hubby and I are kicked out of our chairs and the dogs take over for a snooze…C and B 1

We just barrowed it for a little while… we’ll give it back…C and B 2

What a great weekend…

We had a great weekend at our place. Hubby’s sister and her family came to visit. This included her hubby, two boys, and their dog Manny a 7 year old schnauzer. We were a little concerned that our dogs would have the same issues they had with my uncles dog, but this time they quickly became the best of friends…OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It was fun to see them play, run in the yard, and just figure out their order. The family is here until tomorrow and we will miss having them when they go. I know the dogs will miss Manny. I have a bunch of photos of the pups over the weekend and will share more with you this week as well as some more photos of our trip to the State Fair. Hope you are having  a good Labor Day weekend if you are in the USA. (even if you aren’t you can celebrate with us) 😉

The run…

Happy Sunday… it’s a rainy Sunday here, but at least the dogs got out  a lot this past week to play. They love to run and play and when they get a new place to go exploring. Here comes Chase….Chase run 3

Frist Walk of Spring

We finally got a really nice day yesterday and had time to take the dogs for a walk/run… Our boys love it when they get to go to certain parks as there is opportunity for them to run and explore off leash and still be safe so we don’t worry. I just love to watch the progression of a dog in mid run…Chase run 1Chase run 2Chase run 3

My Dog Could Win Westminster…

So I admit it… I have been hooked the last two night to the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Now I have two mixed bread dogs so I know they can not win this dog show…. but they have won the Dog of My Heart Show.Chase n Bax

I love Baxter for his patients, smarts, ability to sleep when I need him to, and his great work as a therapy dog 🙂Bax snow face

I love Chase for his energy, loyalty, ability to try his hardest to do what I ask of him, and his cute little face I just LOVE 🙂Chase jacket

I could say many more great things about my pups…. but you can tell I love them, as they are often the center of my blog and my happiness 😉

Home Values and Love

The boys are trying to stay as cool as they can today. It tried to rain earlier, but that only made the humidity go up. I was out earlier this morning in the garden watering and checking on the plants. Things seem to be growing well. I wanted to water before it got too hot and caused all the water to evaporate.

When I got home the chickens were staying cool in the shade. (Aren’t “the girls” so cute 😉 )

I am in the mood for wadding… the river that runs through the battlefield we went to earlier in the week is calling my name…

This weekend promises to be a busy one. Tomorrow I am going over to the elderly couples house we bought the tractors from (https://seasonsgirl.wordpress.com/2012/04/15/look-what-my-husband-brought-home/) to help them clean. They asked me if I could come over to help them clean house once a month as they are having difficulty keeping up. Then hubby and I have errands to run, house to clean (for Sunday), and want to take the pups for a walk. Sunday we have my husband’s best friend and his family coming over for lunch and to hang out.

I have been thinking lately more and more about if our home portrays the values and beliefs we have. When friends, family, and their kids come over (we have had a lot of visitors over the last few months) do they see our belief in God, our love for others, and our love for each other. I am happy to say in most areas we are doing well, but there is always room for improvement. I think you can make New Years resolutions all year-long… so mine for the next few weeks is to see if there are ways I can create a warm, God valued filled, and healthy environment for those who come into our home.  Is there anything you do to create this in your home?

Thankfull Thursday…

Today I am grateful for my many blessings including my hubby and pups…

(Sorry today is a short post, I am tired after a very long day at work… pre Happy Friday.)
