Somewhere…

Sometimes I feel like this…
May 2014 067
Like I’m driving down a road with no end, not really sure where I am going. The drivers in front of me seem to know their destination and exit the road as needed, but I keep driving. Down a long winding highway knowing it goes somewhere, but not being able to see around each bend or above each valley I go into.
When we visited Indiana something changed for me, or maybe I should say grew. I am tired of the business of where we live and so many people. I remembered being a country girl and having animals and responsibility around me in the form of feed times, animal care, etc. I miss the slower pace of life, the open spaces, and nicer people. I don’t know if this desire will come true or if its just a detour thought for what God has planned. I just know I am on a road… a road to somewhere.

Attempts in Faith

I often ask myself what is faith? Is it something we tell ourselves, something we feel, something we know, or something we are given? I am still exploring this through the word of God.Jesus

A friend of mine was of great encouragement in faith today and I am grateful to her. She constantly remind me that faith is just that.. faith… a belief we have in something/someone for a particular reason. We can feel it, know it, or talk about it depending on the situation. It is very hard to have faith when it seems everything is going wrong around you and your prayers don’t feel answered. Yet, I was reminded that is when we get to then practice our faith. That is still believing in whatever “it” is despite the situation, circumstances, or negativity. I think that is the hardest part of faith… believing… especially when faced with previous disappointments. Still part of faith requires the belief despite the circumstances. Without that piece there is no faith only wandering. So with my friends support I will continue to work on my faith in our dreams and my God.

In The Shadows…

Bird ShadowDo you see our new woodpecker? I was playing with the new settings on my camera and got this photos. I thought it was neat how the bird looks like a part of the branch and blends in to the black of the branches. It reminds me of a sermon I heard on people talents and how some people are good at being in the forefront and doing things for everyone to know. Then there are those of us who like to do things behind the scene and don’t need anyone to know. We all have different gifts and some are more obvious than others. Have you been able to figure out your gifts and if you are a person in the front or in the background as the bird is, kind of hidden to the non observing eye? 🙂

Blessings flow…

I was listening to the radio today and they were talking about how hard it is to have faith when the tough times come. People called in with ideas and suggestions they had tried themselves. There were some interesting suggestions and some showed people’s deep faith. One suggestion reminded me of the weekly blessings blog I try to write. So may time when we are going through a tough time or storm it is hard to see the blessings. If you have been following me for a while or read my ‘About Me’ page you know hubby and I have been trying to start our family… during this time it has been hard to see the light, but there have been many blessings. The biggest change has been our ability to draw closer together during this period of waiting. How wonderful is our Lord that he can turn a time of waiting into a time of blessings.

My thoughts lead me to the Bible verse in James 1:12- “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him”.
