Kindness from others….

So this past week I was nominated for two new awards… I have been slow in accepting as things have gotten away from me. Yet through showing kindness to other this week it has been shown back to me 🙂

I would like to thank The Meandering Matriarch~ AKA:  Suellen Carey-Clarke for nominating me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. I have received this one once before, but wanted to mention it again as this as I do not like to ignore a nomination and feel blessed to be nominated again. 🙂

I also was given the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award from Correans Thoughts at http://correnadotme.wordpress.com . She has had a great count down to Christmas post daily.

The only rule I saw was to nominate 14 other people for this award… so I will pass this along to…

Independence Day…

Happy Independence Day or Happy 4th of July 🙂

Do you know why we celebrate Independence Day which is Americas Birthday??? Independence Day is the national holiday of the United States of America commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Although the signing of the Declaration was not completed until August, the 4th of July has been accepted as the official anniversary of United States independence. The first Independence Day celebration took place the following year – July 4, 1777. By the early 1800s the traditions of parades, picnics, and fireworks were established as the way to celebrate America’s birthday. (taken from http://www.holidays.net/)

An Independence Day Flower

I hope you all have a cool, blessed, and family fun day 🙂 Some of us may not get to see the fireworks due to our predicted rain and storms today, but I have a few photos for you to enjoy incase you can not see them in person…

Blessings to you on this Independence Day 🙂

Celebrate…

This weekend is my mom’s birthday weekend 🙂 She is on her way here so we can spend the weekend celebrating. My mom loves Botanical Gardens near where she lives. When hubby and I visited a few weeks ago we went there and I got some great photos…

Hanging it up… Coming Home

I’m hanging up the rope for the week… I have done enough tugging this week. Last weekend and our trip are starting to seem like a distant memory. This week was long and I only worked 4 days. The rope above is from one of the tall ships we got to tour. I still need to post about Op-Sail and all the things we saw. I will get to it I promise 🙂

One of the nicest feelings is coming home…

This sailor statue shows this point

While on our trip I was thinking a lot about those who are over seas and have to be away from family. I feel blessed they have done this so I don’t have to experience my husband gone. My Dad used to be in the military and go away for weeks or months, but I was too young to remember. I have been told there is nothing like a military home-coming.

I hope you all have a blessed week and I will send you off to the weekend with fireworks … Enjoy 🙂
