Good morning…wake up

This is what I wake up to many mornings….

Good morning mommy wake up! Then my other boys are by the bed waiting for their turn for a pat. Not that I mind, it is a pretty cute face to  wake up to. But sometimes I get him too…

Good afternoon Grayson wake up… mommy is home 😉 (And yes that is the dogs bed that we often find Grayson sleeping in. Don’t worry the boys have many beds and usually only use this one at night or when I am in the room.) Hope your having a good week 🙂

Happy Love Day… otherwise known as Valentines

How has your day been? Been a busy one in our household. Its nice to be older and not needing the thrills and frills that as a younger person you feel you need, especially after a long day. Its Valentines Day today and I am just as happy to be home with hubby and the boys, eating a nice homemade dinner and watching a movie on TV.

I know a lot of people want to go out on holidays like this, but I am the type of person who likes to save the money, avoid the crowds and waits of a restaurant, and just be with the ones I love. Hubby got me some pretty flowers (see above picture) and Grayson decided to take a little credit for them. He’s a funny boy. It was a long weekend this past weekend too so it’s nice to just be relaxing at home.

On a separate note I baked some conversation heart cookies (see above picture for some of them) this past weekend as well and gave them out at church and then today at work. My cookies are always a big hit and this time people loved that I played off an old childhood candy for the decoration. I have bigger plans for them next year, hopefully I will remember my ideas. Hope you are having a good Valentines with the ones you care about the most or have plans to soon 🙂 Happy Valentines Day!

Chase Verses The Sea

A couple weekends ago we went to beach to visit my mom and stepdad. This was Baxter’s 4th or 5th trip to the beach, but only Chase’s 2nd time. As much as Baxter loves the beach, I have to say Chase is enthralled with it. He loves to run and play on the beach and makes up his own games like “chase the wave’.

He watches for the wave to crash on the shore and then chases the surf back out and then runs again when the next wave crashes.

He watches for it…

Chase 1

It’s almost here…

Chase 2

He ran into my mom the first time he played this game and as you can tell Baxter was giving the wave a stern bark for scaring Chase…

Chase 3

He chased it back out…

Chase 4

Then waited again…

Chase 5

Woops it almost got him…

Chase 6

He got brave and got closer…

Chase 7

Then checked out the foam from the wave…

Chase 8

Look Mom I’m not afraid and I chased that wave back into the sea

What a happy and brave pup 😉 …

I love this dog.

Happy Birthday Hubby :)

Today is hubbys birthday… he has to work poor guy. When he gets home I plan to have surprises including a big beef dinner and presents waiting 🙂Lornes Birthday Dogs

I wanted to say something special about hubby that I haven’t before so here is the top 5 things I love about him 🙂

1.) He is striving to be the kind of man God calls him to be.

2.) There is never a boring day in our house, between his humor, klutziness, and  antics it keeps you guessing.

3.) He  is a meat and potatoes guy. This may not be unusual for some of you, but I love it because I can make almost anything and he loves it… it helps when I want to try a new recipe 😉

4.) He is a hard worker. When he wants to do something and is motivated in his task he gets the job done 🙂

5.) He can entertain himself if I am busy, am taking a class/training, or want to go to a Christian women’s conference… he is supportive of my learning and growth.

So happy Birthday to the love of my life 🙂

Smoky Mountains Anniversary

One of my followers- Now at Home Mom- wrote me today and noticed I had been MIA (missing in action). I have been quite busy the last month (work, family visiting, getting things ready for fall and winter, canning, etc.)  and the busy list also included a trip to the Smoky Mountains  with hubby to celebrate out 5-year wedding anniversary.

The Smokey Mountains

The Smokey Mountains

It feels like yesterday that we got married and yet it feels like we have been together for so much longer. It was a wonderful trip and I am still sifting through the pictures I took so I can post about the trip. When I get that far I will post more. I hope all my followers are well and I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Blessed Time

Wow was it another beautiful morning and evening. It got a little hot and humid in the middle of the day, but you couldn’t beat the beautiful sunset and warm evening. I got to spend this morning at home again… wow can I get any luckier 🙂 My client canceled on me and I didn’t have another until after 1 so I got to spend the morning working around the house and even going to the grocery store to pick up a couple things we really needed. The dogs were just loving the warm sun and being outside for the majority of another morning.)Chase n barnI didn’t take this photo of Chase today (he posed for me a couple days ago), but it does show what this day was like. I was happy to be at work in the heat of the day and even more happy to be home in the morning and late evening when it was just beautiful 🙂 I have felt so blessed the last couple of days to be able to have this time at home to take care of things.. it made me feel more human and more like I actually have a life 😉 Sometimes work just takes up so much of my time that I forget that my family (pets included) and my home are my joy. It is nice to have time to clean and organize and not have to do it after work when I am tired or on the weekends. I so enjoy the little animal care I get to do with the chickens and dogs. It was nice to be able to go above and beyond in their care the last couple of days to make things even nicer for them then we already try to do. Hopefully someday animal care will be my full time job 🙂

God is Shaping Me…

I had a precious friend give me some advice today. She knows we are struggling with infertility and contemplating our options. She told me a few things … the most important is to trust in God even when we don’t see the plan… be faithful and trust he is going to give us the desires of our heart. She also reminded me of something I say a lot which is… I’m not perfect God is always working on my heart and me as a person. Change sometimes is natural and doesn’t cause much disruption and much of the time change for the better is hard and can be painful at times. It’s hard to change a lifelong behavior or belief, but it can be done and more easily done when God is helping me. Purple TulipI am a Type A person so this need for a dramatic change in this area of my life is going to be hard, but God does love me and knows what is best. He knows the desires of my heart and I am faithfully working to follow him each and every moment of the day 🙂

Happy Mother’s Day!

It’s that day again… Mother’s Day 🙂 A day we get to thank our moms and grandmother’s for all they have done for us. To all mom’s/ grandmother’s, biological, adopted, found, like- a-mom, and animal mom’s (puppy moms, etc.)… Baxter, Chase, Hubby, the chickens, and I wish you all a … HAPPY MOTHERS DAY 🙂Yellow TulipTo my mom…Thank you for all you do… I love you… Happy Mother’s Day 🙂

Snow Chickens…

Long week… short post…. Ending the week of the value Love…

Love for my chickens checking out the snow from their warm coop. Dug them a path today, but we are expecting more snow tomorrow… Happy Friday 🙂

Love after Christmas…

Our Christmas is over, but the snow still has lingered. I just love snow (especially when I don’t have to be out driving in it 😉 I took the pups out for a while to play… I just love the photos I got of my Chase in the snow…Chase

Baxter was a little under the weather so he came in, stayed in most of the day, and slept a lot. I know how much I love my pups and it reminds me that dog spelled backwards is God. And the ultimate Love was shown to us a Christmas Eve long ago…Angel 2

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for behold, I bring you great tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. ”  ~Luke 2:10-11
