Belated Veterans Day

Since I didn’t have time on Friday to post I wanted to today. A rainbow can remind us of many things… the promise from God, hope, beauty, love, and more….

But today I wanted to use it to thank anyone who has served in the United states Military. Without their sacrifice, honor, bravery, and love of this country I believe we would not be the country we are. No matter what, our military members are people to be respected and thanked for their willingness to do what they do. Hubby and I have members ofĀ our family’s who have served. Both of us have heard stories of things they have done and we know the toll it takes on their families. So thank you if you are a military family. I pray God will continue to protect and bless America. Hope you have a blessed holiday season (I can’t believe it is Thanksgiving next week… snuck up on me šŸ˜‰ )

Happy Veterans Day!

Today in the USA is Veterans Day. As I watched some TV today there were lots of programs and shows honoring veterans. But as I watched them it struck me how they seemed to skim over the real “honoring” part. Some shows did a great job, while others said a short thank you and moved on.

I want to try to make up a little for where our culture falls short on really appreciating the men and women who sacrifice so our country canĀ maintain its freedoms. These men and women sacrifice their time, family life, sleep, safety, happiness, comforts, and even their lives for the rest of us who live in the USA. You aren’t appreciated enough and are often taken for granted, but… I want to say a bigĀ THANK YOU … MY FAMILY APPERCIATES YOU… YOU ARE OUR HEROS… and so much more to those of you who have ever served in the military in any capacity and for those of you who currently serve THANK YOU and you are in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and your families šŸ™‚

Happy 4th :)

Hope you have a happy, safe, and blessed 4th of July if you live in the USA or are from the USA šŸ™‚

A big thanks to all members of the military who are standing up for our freedom and allow us to celebrate this day. May God bless you and your families šŸ™‚

Veteran

Today in the USA it is Veterans Day. This is a day we honor all the men and woman who have ever served as part of our military.Ā  TodayĀ we want to personally thank any service member past or present who hasĀ put their lives on the line for my family and this country we live in. I have veterans in my family and I am proud of their service. Flags

TodayĀ we celebrated by visiting a veteran friend of ours. HeĀ is in his 80’s and was in WW-II. He shared with us about some of his experiences after the war and his bond with his “brother” from the war. We helped him cut some wood and he gave us some since we are low. I then went to visit a new mom friend of mine. She has 4 kids and is expecting her 5th. She needed some adult conversation and I entertained the kids some too. She is a sweet soul and I met herĀ in the new church we have been going to for a couple months now. I send out a prayer for any military who are over seas right nowĀ or who are about to deploy for safety and strength for their families. Ā Blessing to them and their families. Happy Veterans Day!

Appreciation in Moments of Time…

I was talking with a friend today at lunch and we got on the subject of appreciation and time. We were discussing how hard it is to find time to do things, yet when it comesĀ  to people and our animals one rule stands true….Ā Chase face

You will never regret a moment spent with someone you love. but will regret any moment you chose not to because you are in a rush, have aĀ perceivedĀ more pressing need, are in a bad mood. etc.

Looking back I have never regretted a time when I stopped to give the dogs an extra pat or love, hubby a kiss, or answer a phone call from a friend. No matter how busy I get if I remember that my job will be there for me to do 5 minutes from now, or that pot on the stove will do just fine on low heat… I will have my priorities straight and appreciate the love that is right in front of me. I challenge you this week to stop and take those extra moments to love the people and your pets that are right there waiting and appreciating every extra moment you give them. Let me know how it goes for you šŸ™‚

AND… Happy Memorial Day! In memory and thankfulnessĀ to all of thoseĀ fallen soldiersĀ and their families for their sacrifice. Please pray for those who are currently serving for safety for them and their families as well as for the veterans and future service members… without these willing service members who knows where we would be šŸ™‚

Birthday Trip…

The other weekend we went to the Marine Corps Museum to check it out for hubbys birthday. They had a lot of history that hubby knew or enjoyed learning about. I also enjoyed reading about the history and trying out some indoor settings on my camera. Hope you enjoy some of the shots I got… Statue

Hanging it up… Coming Home

I’m hanging up the rope for the week… I have done enough tugging this week. Last weekend and our trip are starting to seem like a distant memory. This week was long and I only worked 4 days. The rope above is from one of theĀ tall ships we got to tour. I still need to post about Op-Sail and all the things we saw. I will get to it I promise šŸ™‚

One of the nicest feelings is coming home…

This sailor statue shows this point

While on our trip I was thinking a lot about those who are over seas and have to be away from family. I feel blessed they have done this soĀ I don’t have to experience my husband gone. My Dad used to be in the military and go away for weeks or months, but I was too young to remember. I have been told there is nothing like a military home-coming.

I hope you all have a blessed week and I will send you off to the weekend with fireworks … Enjoy šŸ™‚
