Looking Back….

I was going though some old photos after my trip and came across these from the zoo in Nebraska we visited when we were out there in March for my Grandmother’s 80th birthday. There are some amazing animals there and this one tiger was very special.

It said he was hurt and had to lose his one leg, but has adapted and recovered well. The only issue I have with any zoo is some animals don’t seem to have enough room to roam, run, play. I know most zoos rotate which animals are outside in the free space and which ones are in the smaller spaces. It just makes me sad to not see them all in big spaces, but I guess that for some animals it’s better than the alternative and this zoo does have big outdoor spaces 🙂

There was also this one really funny ape that was playing with these stalks that look like paper streamers. He kept hiding under them then scaring the other apes as they passed or he would throw them up in the air and let them land on him. It was quite funny to watch and everyone was laughing so much. Funny how animals entertain themselves and us.

Well it is the start to another work week and I am already tired 😉 Hope this week goes smoothly for you all 🙂 Blessings 🙂

Wall art…

Happy Thursday 🙂 How has your week been? I wanted to say Hi to my new followers and thank you all for following and visiting my posts. I was not sure when I started my blog a couple of months ago if I would even get one follower or if anyone would be interested in what I had to say. I am happy to have found so many fellow bloggers with the same interests and ideas as I have had. So again thank you…

In our recent travels and drives I had noticed more and more buildings are using art as a way to draw attention or dress up their walls. I have seen some really cool art and thought I would share some today. Some of these places are near us in Virginia and other I have found in Maryland and even on our trip to Nebraska. I always wonder who the artist’s are as I usually look for names on the walls, but have had no success in finding any. Have a happy Thursday 🙂

This is another barn we saw on our little drive yesterday. I love the old silo. I remember as a child when you could drive down the road and see these old silos being filled with grain for storage until the price was right to sell. Silo storage has changed and grain can be stored longer until… the price is right to sell. On our trip out to Nebraska my Uncle taught us more about this. I hope you have a Happy Monday!

Barn of the day and this day…

Another barn we found on our trip… I am currently with the kiddos I am watching for my friend and will post more on the adventures of the kiddos and dogs later. The chickens are in the yard and we have a couple more chickens laying now. The eggs are delicious 🙂

Barn of the day…

Barn of the day...

I found this barn when we were in Nebraska. If you haven’t figured out from my blog yet… Yes I love old barns… and chickens… and my dogs….

I hope you had a good day!

Rainy day…

It’s raining today. I don’t always like rainy Saturday as it usually interferes with what I have to do and I get a major headache from them. Today I am ok with the rain as I need to clean house and get things back in order after our trip. I thought today would be a good one to share some more of my photos from our trip… Hope you enjoy !

I love this tire off a tractor that was getting repainted…

I took this picture as it reminds me of a barn that as a child I would have loved to pop in and out of the windows as a game.

This is one of those lovely evening sky.

This was the large sky I love in this part of the country.

My conference I went to yesterday was long, but very educational. I didn’t get home till 9 PM and was so tired I went to bed. I hope you have a good Saturday!

There is no place like Home…

I am sure when we all hear these words we think of The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy, and the yellow brick road. Today I thought of how true these words are for me coming home from our recent trip to Nebraska. I missed our dogs, chickens, my bed, and just being in my own space. I think the best part of being in your own place is the sense of freedom you can do what you need without needing to ask so you do not disturb someone else space too much. It was great to go outside on a beautiful day like today play with the pups in the yard, watch the chickens, and work in the yard getting things set up for spring.

Vacation to Nebraska…

Hello All…

I am sorry I have not been on in a week. My Grandmother turned 80 on Monday and my husband and I flew out to Nebraska to celebrate with her at a party my mother and her brother threw for her. It was such a busy trip that we are so glad to be home. We also missed our boys a lot…

Baxter glad we're home
