Sunset so Bright

There are many nice things in any given day. But one of my favorite things is a beautiful sunset. When I see a beautiful sunset, one where the colors are vibrant or bright… it can make a bad day better or a good day great.

Sunset1

Hubby and I got to see a beautiful one a couple nights ago coming home from running errands in the city. We were fairly close to home and I looked over and saw this…

Sunset

The sun was just setting and throwing beautiful and brightly colored light over the mountain and into the sky. The clouds were wispy, fluffy, and so light. I made hubby pull over so I could get a couple pictures, but he didn’t mind. It was a good excuse for him to take a moment to enjoy it as well.

I hope you had a great week and that the coming week is full of blessings 🙂

Beauty Filled

There are some day when you look for your beautiful sunset… good days to end it beautifully or bad days when the sunset reminds you of the hope of tomorrow.

sunset

The above sunset I captured while on an anniversary trip with hubby in September. We were in South Carolina for this particular wedding anniversary trip and the sunsets were beautiful. Each day there were different colors and the mood of each sunset was equally calming. I took a lot of pictures on this trip and I hope to start sharing them and showing you some of the beauty I captured on our love trip 🙂 Have a beauty filled week 🙂

Gods sunset

We have had some beautiful sunsets lately. The sun has had so many colors and the flow is like an artist painting on a canvas.  I like to think of them as a reminder God is still with me.

Sunset

Life continues to be tough and it doesn’t see a day goes by without a real trial. Some days it wears on me and then I see this sunset…

Sun Set

And I remember all the things God has given me and I try to be grateful. The beauty that God places in this world is a reminder despite the storm there is hope that God provides in his hands.

Purple Sky…

I just love how God designed the sky on a beautiful day at sunset…

Purple Sky

Do you see all the colors? Purple, blue, orange, yellow… what a gorgeous sight 🙂 I think this kind of colored sky is one of my favorites. I love the bright orange/yellow sky like this…

Ornage sky

The orange sky is so bold an bright… But there is something to be said for the subtlety of a calm purple sky 🙂

Purplr sky

It just calms the soul, provides peace, and just makes you want to slow down and enjoy life 🙂

Snow Sky

Looking out at the sun setting over the snow you can notice many things… colors, shapes, designs, and many interesting things. I was out the other day and saw this sky…

It looked like something was falling from the sky or jetting all over…Sky 2

I don’t know what cause all these designs, but I don’t think I want to…Sky 3

It’s more fun just looking at it and seeing it as beautiful 🙂

Oh Christmas Tree… O Christmas Tree…

How lovely are your branches. Without fail every year since hubby and I got married (and when I was a child) we have gone to get our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. This year was the same and the last few years my mom and step-dad have gone with us… which was great. We got to the tree farm about an hour before dark because we had been preparing the house for the tree and doing a little shopping earlier in the day.

We looked and looked and again found another “perfect” Christmas tree… we cut it down and my step-father volunteered to pull it back for us…Bob tree
Mom and hubby helped to make sure it didn’t fall off the cart we were using…Tree 3 pull
We always go to a local farm to cut down our tree. We like to support our local business. It has little bridges, cut outs, etc all over that make it a great time…Tree cutout

I had not seen the sunset from this property before and it was a beauty…Tree farm sunsetTree farm sunset 2
It was a great way to end a hunt for the “perfect” tree 🙂

True Joy

Oh I just wish I could have gotten a photo of the fog and mist rolling across the back field tonight… it was eerie and magical all at the same time. It almost hid the deer coming though and was covering up our view of the mountain. I stood there for a few minutes and just marveled at everything God thought up on this earth. That includes this sunset…orange sky

It was a beauty the other night. The color just amazed me and left me breathless. I feel blessed each time I see a sunset like this or witness the misty fog come across the field. I hope this coming weekend you experience blessings from God and find true joy in them 🙂

Father’s Day…

For the last couple of years while we have been trying to conceive mother’s and father’s days are a bitter sweet thing. We enjoy spending time with our parents, but also have a secret part of our heart that wants this day for us. Not for cards, or gifts, or selfish reasons…. but to know we have been blessed by God with a child. A precious child to raise and love. Now I guess that could be selfish, but I am hoping it is just a desire to be able to be a good parent. So today like the last two years our pups give “daddy” a card, I make hubby breakfast, let him choose what to do (when he is not working or gets off), and we end the day with a dinner of his choice. Tonight it was steak, potatoes, and broccoli… with strawberry cobbler for dessert 🙂 Cobbler is one of hubby’s favorites and since I had strawberries in the fridge, it worked out well. I didn’t have to go to the store for anything as I had everything he wanted already in the freezer, fridge, or cupboard. It was easy prep and the meal hubby said was great 🙂Orange sunset  After dinner we watched the move “Courageous” on TV. Since it is father’s day, it  is important to recognize, as the movie “Courageous” says, that good God based father’s are essential in a family structure. Without them so many kids go astray and are not disciplined or lead to be good people, good leaders, and good citizens. I see this every day in the work I do. There are also father’s out there that are doing a great job leading their families (and mother’s too) where the spouse has died, is ill, etc. So I applaud those fathers today and wish you a special blessing for all your hard work and dedication to the Lord. I only hope when hubby and I are blessed with our own child we can join those of you who put the Lord first in your families and lead by a Godly example. I wish you all (my Dad too) a very Happy Father’s Day!

A little work never hurt…

What a weekend… the only time I got to sit still was when I was driving to and from my little brother’s graduation party yesterday and when I was asleep. The party was a success and I am so proud of him. Other then that I have been on the go… celebrating, yard work, gardening, calking the front porch, laundry, mowing, cleaning the chicken coop, and I can’t even remember all the rest…Farm SunsetAt the end of the day I was rewarded, after some rain, with a beautiful sunset. I am looking forward to a good nights sleep. Over all it was a good weekend and all the hard work was well worth it, when all is said and done. Someone once said, a little (or lot) of hard work never hurt anyone ;). I hope you had a blessed weekend and got everything done you wanted to 🙂

River Sunset

It’s the end of a week… the dogs are snoozing on the chair, hubby is in bed, and I am trying to get though some magazines that are from months ago. After a long week it is nice to be able to sit back, leave the rest of the chores for tomorrow, and connect with my blogging world. How was your week? Any new developments? We had a cold and windy day, but the sunset was nice…River sunset

I was thinking how nice it is at night… the house is quiet, I can do my bible study without interruption,  I get to watch what I want on TV (or not watch TV at all), no one needs anything, and there is a sense of calm. I know many people get up early to do things before their “house wakes up”, but in my house the night-time is nice. What is your favorite time of day to be alone, quiet, and get some ‘me’ time?
