Memories

There are many important parts of life. One aspect of life is making memories and on the flip side is reminiscing on the memories made. Hubby and I work so much and are so busy with our jobs, animals, home, church, and just general life that its hard to find time to make and then reminisce on memories. We try to make a point of doing something special each year on our anniversary and doing something different we haven’t experienced together before. This year we went to Myrtle Beach.

beach

We both had been to Myrtle before but never together. And we had not done most of the activities we chose when we had been there with friends or family before. We went horse back riding on the beach (we had only ridden on the beach in Hawaii before), we went to a beautiful garden, flew a kite (this was our first time doing that on this beach), went on the sky wheel, played at different putt putt golf courses, and I even took hubby to the South of the Boarder as he hadn’t been there before. So over the next few posts I will share some of the things we got to do on our long weekend. I hope you will enjoy our memories with us 🙂

Beauty Filled

There are some day when you look for your beautiful sunset… good days to end it beautifully or bad days when the sunset reminds you of the hope of tomorrow.

sunset

The above sunset I captured while on an anniversary trip with hubby in September. We were in South Carolina for this particular wedding anniversary trip and the sunsets were beautiful. Each day there were different colors and the mood of each sunset was equally calming. I took a lot of pictures on this trip and I hope to start sharing them and showing you some of the beauty I captured on our love trip 🙂 Have a beauty filled week 🙂

Roadside America

Have you ever been to…

It is a cute little Amish roadside place in Pennsylvania with a quaint little roadside shop (my husband loves the shoo fly pie there) and a miniature town museum. The museum I don’t have pictures of but you can check it out at http://www.roadsideamericainc.com/ . We have been to the museum and shop before, but on our trip we went into the shop again as hubby wanted a shoo fly pie as I had not made one in a while. If you are ever in that area it is a cute place to visit. Kids seem to like it 🙂 It reminds me of place my mom, dad, and I use to stop at when I was a kid. I always had so much fun at these random stops  🙂

Also on this trip we took a little walk and I saw this cool rock formation so I thought I would share.

I hope you all had a fun and happy week and I wish you a blessed week to come 🙂

Price is right…

This is another barn we saw on our little drive yesterday. I love the old silo. I remember as a child when you could drive down the road and see these old silos being filled with grain for storage until the price was right to sell. Silo storage has changed and grain can be stored longer until… the price is right to sell. On our trip out to Nebraska my Uncle taught us more about this. I hope you have a Happy Monday!

Barn of the day and this day…

Another barn we found on our trip… I am currently with the kiddos I am watching for my friend and will post more on the adventures of the kiddos and dogs later. The chickens are in the yard and we have a couple more chickens laying now. The eggs are delicious 🙂

ATV’s and outdoors

I wanted to share something tonight I feel strongly about. We as humans benefit from being outdoors. It helps with mood, energy, spirit, and health. Kids especially need to be outdoors and play. It helps them with mood, energy, creativity, imagination play, social skills building, self-esteem building, and so much more.

I thought I would share with you one of my husbands and my favorite outdoor activities (as we have many). On our one year anniversary (many moons ago now it feels like) we decided to do an outdoors trip which included riding ATV’s through the mountains at an ATV park in Pennsylvania. We had a great time and always enjoy riding ATV’s.

This is me on an ATV in PA.

There were all sorts of trails to ride on from easy to super hard and we enjoyed most of the light to moderate trails (and a couple of the harder ones) as we felt since we don’t get to ride that often on trails like this it would be safest. It had been raining all day and we ended up covered from head to toe in mud (you may not be able to see it here, but we were). Even in the rain we had a blast and built memories that will last a long time.

This is my husband on the ATV.

This is another thing I love about the outdoors, the memories you can make. I hope you have outdoor plans for this weekend if your weather is nice. Even if it rains the puddles can be fun to jump in especially if you have little one… or even a pup or two 😉

Do you or you families have favorite outdoor activities? If so please share them with me 🙂

Rainy day…

It’s raining today. I don’t always like rainy Saturday as it usually interferes with what I have to do and I get a major headache from them. Today I am ok with the rain as I need to clean house and get things back in order after our trip. I thought today would be a good one to share some more of my photos from our trip… Hope you enjoy !

I love this tire off a tractor that was getting repainted…

I took this picture as it reminds me of a barn that as a child I would have loved to pop in and out of the windows as a game.

This is one of those lovely evening sky.

This was the large sky I love in this part of the country.

My conference I went to yesterday was long, but very educational. I didn’t get home till 9 PM and was so tired I went to bed. I hope you have a good Saturday!

There is no place like Home…

I am sure when we all hear these words we think of The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy, and the yellow brick road. Today I thought of how true these words are for me coming home from our recent trip to Nebraska. I missed our dogs, chickens, my bed, and just being in my own space. I think the best part of being in your own place is the sense of freedom you can do what you need without needing to ask so you do not disturb someone else space too much. It was great to go outside on a beautiful day like today play with the pups in the yard, watch the chickens, and work in the yard getting things set up for spring.

I also found some on the vegetables I planted this past fall have come back and I am looking forward to cooking them.

It was a lovely day and a great start to the weekend.

I wanted to share some more photos of my trip as I got so many neat pictures. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Thanks for reading, your comments, and visiting my blog 🙂 Happy Weekend!

Vacation to Nebraska…

Hello All…

I am sorry I have not been on in a week. My Grandmother turned 80 on Monday and my husband and I flew out to Nebraska to celebrate with her at a party my mother and her brother threw for her. It was such a busy trip that we are so glad to be home. We also missed our boys a lot…

Baxter glad we're home
