I was listening to the radio today and they were talking about how hard it is to have faith when the tough times come. People called in with ideas and suggestions they had tried themselves. There were some interesting suggestions and some showed people’s deep faith. One suggestion reminded me of the weekly blessings blog I try to write. So may time when we are going through a tough time or storm it is hard to see the blessings. If you have been following me for a while or read my ‘About Me’ page you know hubby and I have been trying to start our family… during this time it has been hard to see the light, but there have been many blessings. The biggest change has been our ability to draw closer together during this period of waiting. How wonderful is our Lord that he can turn a time of waiting into a time of blessings.
My thoughts lead me to the Bible verse in James 1:12- “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him”.
Your blog is something I look forward to everyday – the beautiful photos and your sweet perspective. Already a momma in a sense, you know lots about what you’re going to need once there’s a baby (babies) in the house. If you haven’t already, start preparing the way. Stock your diapers a little at a time, plug your electrical outlets, and get your bouncing knees on 🙂 Because once he or she (or they) are holding their little arms out for your lovin’, you are going to be very, blissfully, busy!
I felt so blessed by your comment. It came on a day I needed some sweet words and a spirit lift and God provided that through you today. I am greatful 🙂 I am so glad you enjoy my blog and photos and we are doing the preperations for our little one when every God decides it is right. Thank you for the advice 🙂
You hit on one of my true beliefs. We do not learn when everything is rosy and copacetic. It is the times of trials and tribulations that really test us and show us our character or make our character. Having faith that we will survive and come out better is the only way to proceed with grace. Thanks for sharing.
I agree I hate the tough times as they come for my family more then the good, but I always grow and learn. This does build character and my faith 🙂
Reblogged this on LeNae's Law and commented:
It can be very difficult to keep the faith in adversity. My husband and I have been forced into a very difficult situation due entirely to the malicious actions of one, and the ignorance of others.
At first, I tried to grapple with the situation and control it myself, but my attempt was futile (as I had no real control) and my strength was quicly exhausted.
I finally realized I don’t have to try to control the situation, because God is in control. I realized I do have the strength to not only survive the crisis, but to thrive and succeed through it, because I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Everyday since the turn of events in our life I affirm that God is for us, therefore no man can rise up against us, that what this man has done to harm us, the Lord will turn it around and use it for his glory, that we will not survive this season, but we will thrive through it.
I am sorry you are going though a tough time, but with God you will get though it and if you let him he will make you stronger for it. I know this is pretty typical advice, but I am walking though and have walked though many situations where I didn’t see the light, but God was there and he allowed me to learn and grow.
